Definition:The variation of the resonance frequency of a nucleus in NMR spectroscopy due to its magnetic environment: δ = 106cpd - νref) /ν0, where νcpd represents the frequency of the nucleus, νref the relative to a standard, and ν0 the operating frequency of the spectrometer, respectively.
